Textiles in Focus

Forget about queueing for parking at Alexandra Palace, or the NEC for that matter. No charges for parking and less than half the entrance fee! Why not visit Textiles in Focus in Cottenham near Cambridge instead! There will be an exhibition that’s worth seeing, lots of demonstrations, and, of course, good traders. All the suppliers are specialists, so they know all about their products and there is good food and drink to sustain you too…… How can you resist? Dates? 15th – 17th February. There are also workshops and a lecture.

More information can be found here, I’ll be there with Winifred Cottage, so please come and say ‘hi’ when you visit. On that note, if you have any special requirements, for instance Kunin Felt, make sure you let me know in good time beforehand. I won’t be taking much of that with me, and may have limited stocks of other things too.

This is a photograph from last year. It’s a lovely show, and well worth a visit. Hope to see you there.

A belated catch-up

I completely forgot to tell you that I wrote a little about our weekend here and here.  I’m compiling a post about a Private View that we went to this week, so I thought I’d just drop this one in to let you know that I haven’t forgotten you all.  The Exhibition relates to these.

More to come.

Incidently, I recently came across this newish site.  If you want to advertise an exhibition she will willingly add the details – and that applies to anywhere in the world.  I’ve started following, and already found one that I wanted to attend.  (Make a note of the address, but note the ‘d8’!  If you include ‘date’ in the URL you might go to the wrong site!)

An update – and a secret glimpse

This is a quick update on my last post about Quilts and Roses.  I’ve been told that Saturday opening is actually 10.30am for the Quilt Show, so you can come early and beat the crowds.  The Rose Show doesn’t open until 12.30 as there is judging before that.  The food at Squires is usually lovely , so you can have a coffee or lunch while you wait for the second part to start.

We are all set up now, and looking forward to a busy couple of days.  There was still a lot to do when we left, however, and the organisers were rushing hither and thither.  Can you keep a secret?  Here’s a quick glimpse, taken just as we were leaving

Hope to see you there either tomorrow or Sunday, once again it starts at 10.30am.
