Stitched Textiles Exhibition

I’m looking forward to next week.  On Thursday and Friday we will be at the Stitched Textiles Exhibition at Eastleigh.  It was good last year, but I gather that it is going to be bigger this year.  If you are in the area do take a look.

Eastleigh College,   Desborough Campus,   Desborough Road,   Eastleigh,   Hampshire,  SO50 5NH

Thursday 6pm – 8.30pm

Friday 10am – 3pm

Parking isn’t the easiest, although free.  We’ve had dents in the car, so be warned….  However, the standard is good and I think you’ll enjoy it.  If I have permission I’ll post some pictures for those of you that can’t get there.

A belated catch-up

I completely forgot to tell you that I wrote a little about our weekend here and here.  I’m compiling a post about a Private View that we went to this week, so I thought I’d just drop this one in to let you know that I haven’t forgotten you all.  The Exhibition relates to these.

More to come.

Incidently, I recently came across this newish site.  If you want to advertise an exhibition she will willingly add the details – and that applies to anywhere in the world.  I’ve started following, and already found one that I wanted to attend.  (Make a note of the address, but note the ‘d8’!  If you include ‘date’ in the URL you might go to the wrong site!)

Quilts and Roses

It’s summer, it’s June, and that means ‘ROSES’ here in the UK.  They are such a welcome sight, beautiful colours and sometimes a wonderful perfume too.  This weekend we will be attending a Rose Show, but one with a difference.  Squire’s Garden Centre at Badshot Lea near Farnham is the venue for a stunning display of roses, complemented by and exhibition of quilts.

The Rose Show is organised by the Royal National Rose Society with help from the Surrey, Sussex and Kent region of the Quilters’ Guild  quilts curated by Jules and Jan, this show promises to be a feast of colour and inspiration.  (see comment below)  I’ll be there on the Winifred Cottage stand, so come and say ‘hi’.  We’ll have some interesting bits and pieces for you to see too.  If I’m brave enough (and have enough space) I’ll be bringing my ‘FIRST QUILT’.  Nothing special, and made very badly during a recent attempt to relax!  It’s fine for it’s purpose, and I won’t accept any criticism from the Quilt Police……………..!

Saturday and Sunday 23rd/24th June 2012.  Opening times vary on each day, but the exhibition is open at the same time as the Garden Centre.  Follow the links above for more information.
