Working in a series

Do you work in a series, or do you run from one idea to the next?  I’m not saying that one is right and the other is wrong, but there is a lot to be gained from working in a series.  Sometimes that series can continue for years, and a real artist will have no guilt from not ‘moving on’, because much is being absorbed and learnt during that time.

I recently came across this video.  The artist doesn’t work in textiles, but the explanation of his work is worth hearing. Maybe it will inspire you to keep going with something that excites you.  Let me know if it does.  I love comments, so please leave me some occasionally, I know I get lots of visitors…..

And if you are frustrated because you never reach perfection, maybe you should watch this one too.

Colour has been business for a number of years. Crochet is one of my current means of expression and I enjoy enabling other creatives. Some of my blogs are kept as daily records. Take a look and you will see.

  1. Interesting paintings, they look like smaller individual paintings put together. I never thought of black as death – I use it alot in my pieces to make the colours pop…now I’ll be thinking of his comment…LOL! THANKS for sharing Myfanwy!

    1. I know a lot of people who use black, Dale, so you aren’t alone. It’s even been taught as the right thing to do. Maybe it’s the ‘inevitability’ 😉
