I love working with paper. Recently I’ve embarked upon a ‘collage a day‘ exercise, but there are other ways in which I use paper. One of the things I love to do is to convert flimsy tissue into a substantial surface that will work like a fabric. It isn’t ‘fabric paper’, this is different, and is a technique I’ve been using for nearly 20 years. Do let me know if you give it a go. Lovely effects are possible and you can find all the details here.

Collage a Day
Today I am embarking on a small series of collages each day. They are postcard size, approx 6″ x 4″ and they will be featured here.
Made using hand-dyed papers, and executed without much thought or indecision, they are intended as investigations into colour etc. There is more information on the above post, so do take a look.
If there is enough interest I thought it would be good to organise a postcard swap. Take a look and leave a comment there if you would like to join in. Don’t forget to follow the progression over the next few days. It will end before the Festival of Quilts which is just over a week away. Is anyone going? Hope to see you if you do.
Textile Arts Forum, Worthing
Tomorrow is an annual textiles event, in fact it was the first in the country to dedicate itself totally to textiles. It now takes place at the Heene Community Centre, Heene Road, Worthing. Lots to see and eat too! Hope to see some of you there.
What will you find? Well, exhibitions, displays, demonstrations, and stands selling lots of yummy bits and pieces. Winifred Cottage will be there, and so will my other half!
Don’t forget to come and say ‘hello’. Talk to me about the embellisher, or online workshops – any workshops, come to that, and also about the talks that I give to groups.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
