How about joining us?

Well, if you are at a loose end this weekend, why not join us by being creative? It doesn’t matter how you are creative – what does matter is that you indulge at least once – for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Activities will take place from 2nd – 4th May and as in previous events prompts will be posted here at regular intervals. You can join in with any – or all of them – or just qualify by doing SOMETHING CREATIVE for a minimum of 15 minutes. The prompts are exactly that – PROMPTS! How you interpret them is up to you. If you haven’t already done so I recommend that you follow the blog (email link in the sidebar) so that you don’t miss anything. Come and join us on Facebook too. More details and the link here.

Looking forward to seeing you.

A reminder and a bit more

A reminder that it’s the Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta tomorrow and Sunday. The Sunday opening hours are curtailed, so make sure you get there early.

Today I’ve added some new Quintettes to their page. There are only a few there, but we will have many more combinations with us at Brockenhurst. I’m hoping to do a few demos – providing we aren’t too busy – using one of my Journals.

If you would like to see the Quintettes the following picture will take you there.

We also have some beautiful new colourways in the Jumbo Perle! Those are only available at the show. See you soon

Playing with dyes

Dyeing is a serious business. That doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. Observations of health and safety can easily be incorporated into most techniques, and of those (techniques) there are many. I love teaching people to dye. The exciting thing is that given the same dyes and the same instructions each person will produce their own individual results. I have taught it for many years, but this year I am only teaching it once – at Missenden Abbey over the second weekend of May.

What will we be doing? Well I have plans to cover several techniques, and we will be using a variety of different types of dye. I know it will be a fun session, though. Want to join us? The information is here. The class is very nearly full, so you had better be quick! Last time I taught a similar class we ran out of drying space and had to use what we could find
