A New Year

It’s safe to say that 2013 has had its ups and downs. In truth tomorrow follows today, so New Year has no great significance. However, tonight we will celebrate with friends and look forward to health and happiness in 2014. My biggest problem will be to change that 3 at the end of a date to 4! I probably won’t be alone there.

I’m looking forward with positivity. I have a number of projects to see through, including a couple of commissions. To this end I am promising myself that I will be creative, in some form or another, every day. Will you join me? Yes, I know that LIFE sometimes gets in the way – but creativity can reveal itself in many forms. I restarted my regular creativity just a few short days ago. I’m documenting it here and you can follow along via email if you click the button. Not much to see yet, but more pictures will come.

However, I’m going to make more information available to anyone that wants to join me on another private blog. The same photograph will be included, but there will also be written details – sometimes a lot, and sometimes just a little and probably more pictures too, either of the process or of other parts of the project. There will be a small charge for this. £10.00 for the whole year. This charge is only to cover the costs of providing a private place. If you would like to join me you can do so via this link direct to paypal.

Here’s to a great creative year. Join at any time – the blog will be available to you for the whole year. If you have any questions you can contact me via the form below.

Busy Bees, Newport

Many of you know that I occasionally teach a workshop in South Wales at Busy Bees in Newport. Sadly a fire destroyed their premises earlier this month. They are trying bravely to put things back into some semblance of order, and to that end I have today received the following.

‘If you haven’t heard already there was a fire at the shop on 14th December, all the details are here: http://www.busybeespatchwork.com/2013/12/the-fire.html

We know that there are many people other than ourselves who have been totally devastated by this. In order to meet up with as many members of the Busy Bees family as possible, we have booked Duffryn Community centre for a week at the start of January to reconnect. The details are here: http://www.busybeespatchwork.com/2013/12/the-return-saturday-4th-january.html

We would like everyone to come along and see us on Saturday 4th January to re-connect and let us know which classes they are booked into. We have made a Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/278421975638493/

Please forward this information to everyone for whom Busy Bees means something. We are unsure of what the future will bring, but we want to keep as many people in the loop as possible.’
Please pass on the news.

Another busy weekend

Just a few samples produced during the dyeing day at Busy Bees in Newport yesterday. These were the demonstration samples and all the students produced their own variations of these colours…… and lots more. I’ll be returning there next year to teach another technique. Watch out for their new brochure – this year’s class sold out really quickly.

I teach several different dyeing courses. If you are interested in one for your group just get in touch and we will see if we can arrange something.
